Hand signals are important not only for the actors and floor manager to know but it is imperative that the cameramen and all other crew know each hand signal so that they can plan and move accordingly while also listening to the director through the mics, the floor manager will be able to speak to the crew via hand signals so as not to make any noise to disrupt the live audio recording.
