I had a short amount of time to conceptually come up with several ideas to explore and develop through this semester.
I came up with the ideas that include
Board Game of Life
--a sort of Jumanji style mini series where the characters would be faced with a new room each episode and
--have to deal/solve the challenge set in front of them by the Game master
Hostage
--A kidnapper keeping their hostage alive, slight torturing scenes, the hostage is cocky and young but the
--kidnapper is more experienced, cold and professional, then whole film will reflect the interaction and
--reflection of age since the kidnapper will never show emotion even when he pushes him
Dream Journal
--3 therapist patients explaining their dream journal in 3 episode mini series, the journals will vary based on
--the character archetype, a nervous one, a sad one and an angry one. These will hopefully lean away from
--the norm of therapist stylee media and show a darker side to some and a lighter side to others
Illegal Love
--2 men are in a country where the display of affection will be punished by law and socially shunned, it is
--based upon the exploration of otherness, how it must feel to not be allowed by your country to be who you
--are in public and walk with your partner just for him to seem like another stranger.
Body Alter Documentary
--This will be a documentary exploring the reason, process and stages people go through with body
--modification, for example how something seen as tame nowadays, what is the process of getting a simple
--tattoo in comparison to a full arm or back. Then moving onto how piercing and their modifications work.
--How the decision of stretchers were made and how do you know when to stop. The final section will be
--on the extremes like under-skin-implants, eye tattoo's and other extremes that would make the normal
--person squirm at.
I am leaning more toward the Board Game of Life because I have a solid idea in place and I have been thinking about rough ideas on how to expand certain areas. How ever the body modification documentary has a lot of potential and can be taken to several different levels that I think could work.
