Professional skills research
when looking at the difference between film and digital the obvious appearance is enough to give them away, Digital film will pick up details and lighting much easier and more efficiently than say a 16 or 8 mil camera stock, the lack of that detail is made up with a sense of feeling with the films overall look, the original film adds a certain additive to the screen and gives it more purpose in a sense.
Loc Doc shooting the last scene and editing the final thing
After getting all of the shots together and editing them before Christmas I was able too add the effects I need to add to the final look
With the last shoot which was very last minute I as the
camera operator was the only one to care about this particular shot, I tried
contacting and organizing the shoot with the producer and director but kept
being reassured that they would get it done but when it came to Thursday the 8th
and having a full schedule the next day I had to do it all myself, non of my
crew even bothered asking if I got the shot done when I came into the editing
suite to capture and finalize the recreational shoot I took the equipment out myself I went to the
back garden and I did a small set build where I put the gopro down and used rock
pallets around it to recreate concrete floor, I made sure to use gloves and
kept the set build away from the camera and equipment to keep safety in mind
however I did set the scene and got an
actress too stand in for a scene that need a face, I however could not unless Georgie
grew a beard. But I will admit that I was mad at the fact that I as an editor
needed this shot and my crew ignored my intentions about the scene that I needed
to progress the editing to a final stop.
However with the editing side of things i made sure as to get straight to the editing suite after i had filmed this shot alone since my crew weren't there (I had mentioned it too them and tried to get this shot done but I ended up doing myself) I got straight to the suite and captured the footage from the shoot and added it to the avid bin

This was the entirety of the timeline, most of the shots were simple Que in, Que out place on the timeline but others I had to be tricky about because some of the audio in the files were a little gritty or audibly grubby so I had too pick and choose which I was going to use in that particular shot, The sound won't have been picked up while on shoot so we had no idea until I started editing

with this close up you can see is the small purple icons appear on the particular videos, that's because I added n effect onto them too get the overall look that I wanted to have, I used a total of three which would be-

What this effect did when it was dragged and dropped onto a video file was it allowed me to select the polygon tool and go around a certain area and make it like a window, the technique is called masking, the selected area can either allow everything on the inside of it be shown and nothing around it to be shown or it's effect can be flipped and be used so that everything around it can be scene apart from inside the selected area therefore making it easy to see a video that is underneath this one in the time line. The other effects I used were dissolve for the entrance of Pennywise and the re-size effect for when he was looking through the gutter, the re-size and dissolve were easy enough o use and manipulate.

After i sorted and arranged all of the videos files all I needed too was to sort the audio out, I had multiple layers, I had a rain soundtrack and the It theme matched to the time it appears in the original video however I also had the interference of the audio form the actors and wind resistance from a few. I used this sound editor in avid and I was able too control the audio levels that come under as the blue play line goes over the timeline therefore being able to turn 1 videos audio layers down on the same layer as video 2's sound which needed to be turned up. This was an incredibly large help when it came to editing the audio levels
